LUCKNOW: An Indira Nagar-based private firm has been accused of duping investors under the pretext of offering them real estate at reasonable rates. Takrohi resident approached Ghazipur police station on Monday to lodge a complaint against the firm. The office of the firm is located off Faizabad road near Sanjay Gandhi Puram and it had been offering investors plots through a multi level marketing based business plan for the past few years. The complainant Shivendra Srivastava maintained that the firm jacked up the real estate prices contrary to what had been promised initially. The company had offered plots at the rate of Rs 50 per square feet almost four months back but had allegedly asked for additional amount from over 30 investors at the time of going ahead with registry of the plots. Srivastava submitted a receipt amounting to Rs 30,000 to cops as proof of investment. Navendra Singh Sirohi, in charge of Ghazipur police station, said further probes were on. The firm on its part claimed that realty prices had gone up in the period and investors were asked to pay up accordingly.
